02-10 September at Lybster in Scotland Istra attended a masterclass in glass blowing and hot glass with Richard Wentworth, James Devereux, Louis Thompson and a group of glass artists from all over the World. As always, great experience.

The Map project in Slovenia

Arthouse College, Ljubljana in Slovenia - 19^th May 2016 we held our Map project exhibition at the Arthouse College in a beautiful city of Ljubljana.The exhibition was organised by a group of the college students and teachers who participated in making of their artwork.

The Map Project in Scotland

15th August – 7th September 2015 

The Skerray group organised exhibitions at two locations at the very top of Scotland.

At Skerray community centre the maps were seen and much appreciated by the community of 67.

At Lybster community centre the project was shown during the 19th International Glass conference and was very well received by more than 80 conference participants. Both events attracted much interest in the project, particularly in the underpinning stories and symbolism in each of the maps.

The map project launch in Australia

Broome, Western Australia - 27 July 2015

In the middle of a tropical paradise with pristine beaches, heat & red desert landscapes the map project was launched in Australia.

This space was specifically chosen to launch this exhibition to absorb the spirit of the land before travelling to more populated areas throughout Australia. Broome has a rich history of art with the local Yawru people's "dreaming" and influences of the colours of the desert, the turquoise of the ocean and extraordinary wildlife. Broome is the breeding ground for whales, sea turtles and dugongs, home to salt water crocodiles, dingoes and snakes. At night a million stars carpet the sky above, a map of the universe, and so the dreaming begins.

A thriving art, music and theatre society with many multi cultural influences from pearl diving, mining and tourism. It is the sort of place that many people visit and some never leave. A perfect place for art and spirit to come together.

The Map Project at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton

On Friday we hung 3 new maps from Scotland, Slovenia and Kosovo together with the 3 maps from Wirral, Croatia and Montenegro at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton as part of the Wirral Festival of Firsts. The large airy space is the perfect place to display the maps. Entry is free and the maps will be on show until 12th July.
